Analyst
Cliffwater LLC is looking to hire one or more Analysts to join our growing team of investment professionals who will focus on alternative investment research. Our investment teams source investment opportunities, conduct due diligence, and monitor fund performance in the alternative investments arena. The position(s) will be on one of three research teams - hedge funds, private equity or real assets - depending on the successful candidate’s background and resource requirements by each research team.
The Analyst position is an ideal opportunity for a candidate who has an undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related field. Work experience in investment consulting, investment management, or a related field is preferable. The candidate should be able to multi-task and be flexible with work hours. This position will be located in Marina del Rey, California.
Responsibilities are as follows:
- Fund-level due diligence. Analyze hedge fund, private equity or real assets investment opportunities by working with data in excel format, audited financial reports, and general research.
- Client reporting. Assist in providing regular reports on alternative investments to clients. Monitor client investments - requires knowledge of basic accounting rules and use of an in-house database.
- Industry research. Conduct general hedge fund, private equity or real assets investment research. Provide support to senior professionals.
Candidates should have an excellent knowledge of Excel, Powerpoint, and other Microsoft programs, as well as an understanding of financial statements. Candidates should have very strong writing and communication skills. Cliffwater offers a competitive compensation and benefits package.
